Project 4 involved the reconversion of a building from the 40's were the heating for the school campus used to be generated. Now there are plans to reconvert it into a student restaurant. I wanted to create an escape zone, and with the old function, the concept became Fire Escape. Fire and stair are central, as the balconies watch over the open kitchen, as in theater. Metal and concrete = after war period. (perforated) Metal = translucency and reflection. Colour = contrast with classrooms.
