BODEGHEM SHELTER
My elective 'Alterering Practices for Urban Inclusion' has given me the opportunity to work on the future of the bodghem shelter in Brussels. The shelter will scale down the amount of residents, soly focussing on the shelter of homeless man. Together with the office... we developed new plans for the future including a gradient of privacy. New common rooms will be introduced on every floor for every 9 residents.
In a second part we focussed on appropriate furniture and enabling appropriation. We proposed several concepts for flexible furniture, but due to the scale down and the current access of furniture, we went with the concept of Re-Use. This later evolved in a 5 day workshop in wich we created 4 elements allowing the appropriation of the downstairs dnningroom.
